Our Craftsmanship

Beautiful fabric is only the beginning. Discover the skill, care and attention that go into our handmade curtains, Roman blinds and cushions.

Handmade in Britain

Made by people.
Made for your home.

Your measurements. Your fabric. Your finishing touches.

Our made-to-measure curtains, Roman blinds and cushions are brought to life by skilled makers here in Britain. From the first cut of fabric to the final seam, it is the care behind the making that gives each piece its character.

We combine practical workroom expertise with an eye for the details you will enjoy every day: a beautifully placed pattern, a neatly finished edge and fabric that falls just as it should.

The care behind every curtain

From beautiful fabric to beautiful curtains

There is more to a made-to-measure curtain than its width and drop. Here is how the individual elements come together.

The details that make the difference: fabric, lining and a carefully finished edge.

Made to your specification

Your curtains start
with your choices.

Whether you love a soft, understated weave or a bold decorative print, the making begins with the fabric you have chosen and the look you want to create.

Your measurements, heading and lining options shape the finished curtains. Together, they influence how the fabric gathers, how it drapes and how it feels in your room.

01
Planning the fabric
We work from your order specification to plan the fabric lengths and widths. With patterned fabrics, the design and its repeat guide the cutting and placement.
02
Measuring & cutting
The fabric is laid out and measured, allowing for the heading, hems and construction. Care at the cutting table sets the foundation for the finished pair.
03
Joining & sewing
Where more than one width is needed, panels are joined with attention to the pattern. Our makers guide the fabric through the sewing process, forming the curtain panel and its edges.
04
Adding the lining & heading
Your selected lining and, where chosen, interlining become part of the curtain’s construction. The heading gives the top of the curtain its distinctive shape and controls how it hangs.
05
Finishing & checking
Hems, edges and finishing details bring everything together. The completed curtains are checked against the order before being prepared for their journey to your home.

A different heading. A different feel.

Explore how pencil pleat, pinch pleat, eyelet and wave headings change the finished look.

Careful measuring gives the blind its structure and its characteristic folds.

Beautifully folded. Carefully made.

How we make
your Roman blinds

A Roman blind brings together the softness of fabric and the precision of a tailored window dressing. The finished look depends on what happens on both sides of the cloth.

01
Cut to your specification
The face fabric and chosen lining are measured and cut, with attention to the position of the design.
02
Carefully constructed
Edges are sewn and horizontal rod pockets are positioned to create the structure behind the folds.
03
Assembled & checked
The fabric panel is brought together with its headrail and operating system, then checked for finish and movement.

Careful measuring gives the blind its structure and its characteristic folds.

A neatly sewn seam or a piped edge makes a small piece feel beautifully finished.

Small details. A beautiful finish.

How we make
your cushions

A cushion is a lovely way to bring a favourite fabric into your room, or to carry a colour or pattern from your curtains onto a chair or sofa.

01
Thoughtfully cut
The fabric is measured and cut for your cushion, considering how the design will sit across the cover.
02
Sewn with care
Panels are joined and the fastening is sewn in. Where selected, piping is worked around the edges for a tailored finish.
03
Finished to your choice
The cover is finished and checked, ready to enjoy as a cover only or with your selected filling.

Considered from the inside out

It is the details that make it yours

Some details catch your eye. Others work quietly behind the scenes. Each plays a part in the finished piece.
01
The position of a pattern
Thoughtful cutting considers how a motif sits across a panel and how a design flows where fabric widths meet.
02
The feel of the lining
Your lining choice influences the body, drape and light control of your curtains or Roman blind.

03
The finish of an edge
Hems, seams and optional piping give the fabric its finished shape and a considered, tailored appearance.
