Barneby Gates is the result of a remarkable friendship and a shared passion for print and pattern. Founded by childhood friends, Vanessa Barneby and Alice Gates, the brand embodies a beautiful blend of classic British style with a witty, contemporary twist.

Vanessa, who spent five years as the Living Editor at British Vogue, brought her keen eye for interiors and trends, while Alice, a talented artist and graduate of the prestigious Slade School of Fine Art, contributed her painter’s hand and love of colour. Together, they turned their friendship and complementary talents into a successful design studio specialising in striking wallpapers and fabrics.

Since launching in 2009, Barneby Gates has become a beloved name among interior designers and style enthusiasts who appreciate elegant prints that balance heritage motifs with unexpected, playful elements.
