Behind the Brand: Zimmer + Rohde
A Legacy of European Refinement
Zimmer + Rohde is a distinguished German fabric house known for its elegant, contemporary collections that exude quiet luxury and sophisticated design. Founded in Frankfurt am Main in 1899, this family-run company has spent more than a century weaving together European textile heritage and modern innovation.
From its earliest days, Zimmer + Rohde earned a reputation for quality and artistic integrity, supplying the highest calibre of fabrics to discerning clients and prestigious interiors across Europe. Today, the brand continues to uphold its founding values while exploring fresh, cutting-edge techniques that keep its collections relevant and exciting.
Zimmer + Rohde Today: Understated Luxury, Modern Spirit
Zimmer + Rohde’s design ethos is rooted in refined simplicity. Each collection is carefully curated to offer a balance of subtle textures, graceful patterns and sophisticated colour palettes, making them effortlessly versatile for both classic and contemporary interiors.
The brand’s fabrics range from delicate sheers and sumptuous velvets to tactile linens and innovative blends, each crafted to the highest standards. Its designers draw inspiration from art, architecture and the natural world, translating these influences into textiles that feel timeless yet fresh.
Zimmer + Rohde’s understated approach appeals to those who value quiet elegance over fleeting trends — fabrics that transform spaces through texture, light and harmonious colour rather than bold, overpowering prints.
